Aus-NZ BBC National Finals 2009
The Australia New Zealand National final took place on the 31 January -1 February 2010 in Sydney as part of the Australian Neuroscience Society’s 30 Annual Meeting, and what a fantastic occasion it was for all of us. The North and South Island competitors fought it out to the very last and exhibited an outstanding level of knowledge and understanding in all four Parts of the competition.

In the end there must be a winner although there was very little between Kate Burgess and Tharun Sonti; both were wonderful ambassadors for their schools, their Regions and for the NZBBC.

Congratulations to our winner, Kate Burgess from Samuel Marsden Collegiate School, representing the North Island, and out runner up Tharun Sonti from Riccarton High School, representing the South Island. Kate will now go on to represent New Zealand at the International Brain Challenge in San Diego California, USA in August 2010. Good luck Kate.
