The South Island 2011 Brain Bee event was held in Dunedin, (thankfully no snow this time), on 28 June. At this second round of the Australasian challenge, we had 78 Year 11 students from 13 schools from Dunedin, Christchurch, Riverton, Geraldine, Golden Bay, Kaikoura, Motueka, and Roxburgh come to the University for the competition, as well as for research talks and lab visits.

The winner this year was Connor Clemett, from Riccarton High School. Riccarton also took out the team award, for the third year in a row. Many thanks to the Brain Bee committee for all their very hard work.
